Monster Mini-Golf Hosts Party for Military Children

Children whose parents serve in the military recently enjoyed a free day of mini golf, video games and pizza with their families at Monster Mini-Golf in Deer Park to commemorate April as the “Month of the Military Child.”

Steve Gramolini and John Nicolette, owners of Monster Mini-Golf, donated their facilities and hosted the event in collaboration with Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern (D-Huntington), who serves as Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee. More than 30 military families attended the event on April 15.

‘It is vitally important to support these families and especially their children, not just with words, but with action. I am pleased to host this event for the children and their families as a way to give back and let them know we support them,” Stern said

"It was an honor and a privilege to give back to the military people and their families, John Nicolette and Steve Gramolini, owners of Monster Mini-Golf said. “ We are very grateful for their many sacrifices made in order to keep our country safe."

Suffolk County 4-H Youth Development provided backpacks for the children and Long Island Cares- the Harry Chapin Food Bank brought its mobile pantry to assist military families. 

Additionally, Regina Pfeiffer, R.N., of the Soldiers Project, which provides counseling and services to military families attended and local merchants donated food and treats for the children.

“I thank everyone who helped make this event a resounding success,” Stern said.  “Our military children and families deserve our support and must know that we as a community are here for them and recognize their sacrifices for our great nation.”
