Motorcyclist Killed In Suffolk Crash

WYANDANCH, NY - A motorcyclist was killed after a crash in Wyandanch Sunday evening, according to Suffolk Police.

Diane King, 62, of Wyandanch was driving a 2014 Nissan Murano northbound on Straight Path at 5:30 p.m. when she tried to make a left turn onto South 24th Street and collided with a 2004 Honda motorcycle being driven by 50-year-old Martin Newkirk, also of Wyandanch.

Newkirk was taken via ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

King and a passenger in her car were also taken via ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The car and motorcycle were impounded for a safety check.
