N. Babylon Girls Basketball Moves On in Playoffs

Lady Bulldogs defeat Deer Park Falcons 56-40 in the opening round of the playoffs Thursday.

The North Babylon Lady Bulldogs varsity basketball team will move on to the quarterfinals after defeating the Deer Park Falcons 56-40 at North Babylon High School Thursday.

Newsday reports the Bulldogs led the whole way through the game, led by a triple-double by Makeda Nicholas. She led the team with 20 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocks. North Babylon's Brianna Jones also added 17 points and 6 rebounds while Brittany Hicks had 10 points and 5 assists.

Deer Park was led by Kristy Vitucci with 11 points.

The number one-ranked Bulldogs continue their perfect season, improving to 14-0 in-conference and 18-1 overall.

The North Babylon Lady Bulldogs will take on Kings Park High School on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at North Babylon High School at 5:45 p.m.
