No, There is Not a Bear Roaming Around Deer Park
The Ring app alerted residents to a "black bear moving west" in the area, but police say they have received no bear reports.
DEER PARK, NY - A rumor of a black bear spotted in Deer Park has been circulating around social media Thursday morning.
A post on Facebook indicated that someone heard a bear was loose on Deer Park Avenue.
An alert on the Ring app also informed residents that a "bear was moving west" on the busy road.
