North Babylon Boy Scout Troop 399 at Yawgoog Scout Camp

North Babylon's Boy Scout Troop 399 began a tradition back in July of 1977 that still lasts today - summer camp at Yawgoog Scout Reservation! The troop attended Camp Yawgoog which is located in Rockville, Rhode Island the week of July 15 through July 22nd. For Yawgoog's 103nd season 22 boys and 9 adults attended camp. Each year at Camp Yawgoog enriches the boys’ knowledge of many subjects including Wilderness Survival, Chess, Fishing and First Aid. They can kayak, hike, canoe and swim among the many other wonderful activities at the reservation. The scouts earned 74 merit badges, 3 scouts advanced in rank, the troop earned honor troop, took 1st place in the water carnival and 3rd place bake-off contest. They did an incredible service project to the camp, helping drainage to the areas around water fountains. The troop also won Troop of the Week for Camp Medicine Bow for the 2nd time in 3 years. The scouts learned to live and work together towards common goals with community spirit and had a wonderful time!
