North Babylon Director Celebrated By New York State
Krystle Barnett was recently honored during New York State Senator Phil Boyle's 9th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Awards ceremony.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — A North Babylon educator was recognized recently for her outstanding achievements within her community.
The North Babylon School District announced Thursday that Krystle Barnett, director of social studies for grades kindergarten to 12th grade, was recently honored during New York State Senator Phil Boyle’s 9th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Awards ceremony.
A North Babylon resident of Cuban descent, Barnett was selected for the contributions she has made to the culture and lives of Hispanic individuals in the community, supporters said. Her work within the North Babylon school district includes implementing culturally proficient, civic action and student activism.

Barnett was among 12 honorees and was nominated by a North Babylon community member.
