North Babylon Firefighter Faces Felony Drug Charges

His girlfriend was also arrested after police executed a search warrant at their West Babylon home last week.

A West Babylon man and his girlfriend were arrested last week on felony drug charges after police executed a search warrant at their home, Suffolk Police said.

Elijah Arbouin, who is firefighter with the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company, and Diamond McClain were arrested shortly after 6 a.m. last Thursday after police found drugs in their home located at 81 S. Arizona Road in West Babylon, police said.

Arbouin and McClain, who are both 23, are charged with six felony drug charges, including second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug, 4 ounces or more), second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogenic substance), second degree criminal possession of marijuana (16 ounces or more) and criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to distribute.

Police did not release any other information. Robert Clifford, the spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, has not responded to a Patch email requesting the mugshots of Arbouin and McClain.

Arbouin and McClain were arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday. They are both being held on $25,000 cash bail or $75,000 bond and were due back in court on Tuesday.

Arbouin was arrested in 2013 on drug and forgery charges after being pulled over on the Southern State Parkway.
