The units are made from two-drawer filing cabinets, ultraviolet lights and timers
and will be used to sterilize masks, other personal protective equipment, Chromebooks,
cell phones and other electronic devices.
According to Carmine Galletta, president of GallettAir and graduate of North
Babylon High School’s Career and Technical Education program in HVAC, the filing cabinets
can eliminate traces of viruses and bacteria within 15 minutes. Mr. Galletta worked in
collaboration with board of education member Paul Miller to secure the donation to the
district.
