North Babylon Standout Actress Nominated for Prestigious Award

Congrats to North Babylon High's Monica Fox!

Monica Fox has been nominated as a Best Leading Actress for the prestigious Gershwin Award based on her performance in North Babylon High School’s drama production, Mame.

Fox is one of 30 high school actresses nominated for the award, which was open to all public and private high schools located in Brooklyn, Bronx, Long Island, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and Westchester. She has the opportunity to represent the New York metro area in the National High School Musical Theater Awards in June following a five-day musical theatre-intensive held at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Studio on Broadway.

As a nominee, Fox will participate in a day-long audition led by a team of experienced Broadway coaches who direct students through a rehearsal and presentation of an original musical theater production number. She will follow the number up with a talent showcase featuring the performance of a solo song she performed in Mame.
