North Babylon Students Dress As 100-Year-Olds For 100th Day Of School Celebration

Young learners counted, created, and imagined their futures while celebrating how much they've grown this school year.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — Prekindergarten, kindergarten, and first-grade students at Marion G. Vedder Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of instruction on Feb. 10 with a full day of activities centered around the number 100.

Dressed as centenarians, students embraced the milestone by participating in creative and educational lessons designed to highlight both academic progress and imagination.

Students wrote short stories and drew pictures imagining what they might be like at 100 years old, encouraging reflection while building literacy skills. Throughout the day, classes also counted to 100, completed 100 exercises, and created necklaces using 100 Fruit Loops, reinforcing math concepts through hands-on activities.
