Person Killed By Train Near Wyandanch: MTA
The person was hit by a train headed from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma.
WYANDANCH, NY — A person was fatally struck by a train on Thursday morning, according to the MTA.
The person, who was not authorized to be on the tracks, was struck east of Wyandanch Station shortly before 10:30 a.m., said MTA spokesperson Joana Flores. The train that hit the person left Penn Station at 9:16 a.m. and was headed to Ronkonkoma, Flores said.
LIRR Ronkonkoma Branch service was suspended in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma, Flores said.
