PM Pediatrics Expanding to North Babylon
After-hours pediatric facility will move into location formerly occupied by Blockbuster.

PM Pediatrics, an after-hours pediatric urgent care facility, will open a new location in the spring in North Babylon on Deer Park Avenue.
The children's health facility will offer after-hours care for area residents with operating hours on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and weekend service from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. According to the company, all of the locations provide walk-in urgent care 365 days a year.
Each location is staffed by pediatric emergency specialists who provide "specialized care and treatment for a broad array of illnesses and injuries including asthma, fever and other infections, dehydration, sprains and fractures, wounds requiring stitches," according to a release by the company.

PM Pediatrics will be located at 1130 Deer Park Avenue – a site last operated by Blockbuster.
"I look forward to getting to know the families in the community and providing them with premium healthcare delivered by a dedicated team of pediatric emergency specialists,” said Dr. Faiz Ahmad, Medical Director for PM Pediatrics Selden and North Babylon, in a statement.

Each office has high-definition digital x-ray machine and laboratory capable of performing quick blood, urine and chemistry workups, as well as plastic surgeons or orthopedists as necessary on site.
Rooms within the office are themed for the children's enjoyment, including jungle, seaside, Medieval Times and Main Street USA themes, and are equipped with televisions.

"Dr. Ahmad is an invaluable leader, helping to grow PM Pediatrics [in] Selden to over 25,000 patient visits in 2012. His expertise as a pediatric emergency physician, medical director and award-winning educator will be integral to the success of North Babylon."
PM Pediatrics has opened five other facilities since it formed in 2005, including two others on Long Island in Syosset and Selden and another in Bayside, Queens.
