Police Alert Deer Park Residents to Level 3 Sex Offender Living Next to Post Office

A Level 3 sex offender is living next to the Deer Park Post Office and less than a half-mile from the Deer Park Public Library and John F. Kennedy Intermediate School.

Robert J. Bruno, 77, recently moved to 20 Parkcenter Drive in the Babylon Park Center apartment complex, Suffolk Police have told local residents.

Bruno was convicted of first degree sex abuse in 2001 in Nassau County. The victim in that case was a female younger than 12, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Sex offenders are classified as Level 1-3. Level 3 offenders are considered to have a highest risk to re-offend.

Under state law, Level 3 sex offenders cannot live within 1,000 feet of a school. Bruno’s residence does comply with that law. Bruno drives a 2014 white Hyundai Accent.
