Police: Deer Park Man Stole 2 Dozen Catalytic Converters
The 33-year-old was arrested on Thursday.

A Deer Park man was arrested on Thursday and charged with stealing 24 catalytic converters from vehicles across the county over the last month.
According to police, Robert Storey, 33, was observed by Suffolk County Police Officer Timothy Conroy stealing a catalytic converter from a truck parked at a business located on Skip Lane in Baywood at about 4:35 a.m. Thursday.
Further investigation determined Storey was responsible for numerous thefts of catalytic converters since June 29, police said. Storey predominantly targeted trucks parked at businesses located in industrial areas during the early morning hours, police said.

Storey is charged with two counts of first degree auto stripping, nine counts of second degree auto stripping, three counts of third degree auto stripping, five counts of second degree criminal mischief, seven counts of third degree criminal mischief, two counts of third degree grand larceny and 10 counts of fourth degree grand larceny.
Storey was being held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
