Police: Deer Park Man Stole Envelope of Checks From Woman at Bank
Incident occurred in East Meadow Wednesday morning, police say.

A Deer Park man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he stole an envelope containing checks from a woman at an East Meadow bank.
According to Nassau police, while waiting on line to deposit six checks at a Chase Bank located at 2469 Hempstead Turnpike, a 28-year-old woman was approached by Thomas Sidoti, who came up from behind the woman and stole the envelope shortly before 11 a.m.

After fleeing the bank, Sidoti was observed heading westbound on Hempstead Turnpike and was stopped by a responding K-9 officer, police said. He was arrested without incident and the envelope containing the woman’s checks was recovered, police said.
Sidoti is charged with fourth degree grand larceny and will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
