Recycling Facility Employee Seriously Hurt After Truck Strikes Wall, Causing Bricks To Fall
Several bricks fell from the wall and struck a 26-year-old worker on the head Thursday morning, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY – A worker at a Long Island recycling facility was seriously injured when a truck struck a wall and bricks fell on his head Thursday morning, Suffolk Police said.
An employee of AM Waste Services, was operating a 2017 Mack truck at Great Northern Fibers, located at 77 Field St. in Wyandanch when the vehicle struck a brick wall at approximately 11:40 a.m. Several bricks fell from the wall and struck another employee, 26-year-old Elvin Cruz, on the head.
Cruz, of Wyandanch, was transported by the East Farmingdale Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Town of Babylon building inspector and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded. Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section responded to inspect the truck.
