Robert Moses Middle Schoolers Create Language Arts Comic Strip
Students identified various plot elements of the book including exposition, conflict, rising actions, climax, falling action and resolution.

Sixth grade students at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon are using what they learned in their language arts classes to become comic strip artists. Students in Mrs. Nocella’s classes recently finished reaching “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan. As a culminating activity, the sixth graders created a comic strip through the Storyboard That program.

Students identified various plot elements of the book including exposition, conflict, rising actions, climax, falling actions and resolution. They then turned their discussions and the storytelling elements into a visual. The comic strips gave students a different perspective into what they learned and helped them realize how well they mastered the material.
