BAY SHORE, NY — November 24, 2014 — The big man himself, Santa Claus, will be stopping by Westfield South Shore mall, 1701 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Lord & Taylor court to read stories over milk and cookies to good boys and girls. There will be other fun activities for children to enjoy during Mr. Claus’s visit, too, including arts and crafts and letter writing stations to let Santa know what each child wishes for this holiday season.

While Santa always knows who has been bad or good, he also knows that some very good children are less fortunate and may not be able to enjoy the holidays without the generosity of others in the community. For them, Santa Claus and Westfield South Shore are requesting that those visiting him on Sunday, December 14 bring a new, unwrapped toy, or gift card, to benefit Family Service League’s Project T.O.Y. (Treasure Our Youth). Project T.O.Y. allows parents who are struggling financially the opportunity to choose two unwrapped gifts for each of their children at Family Service League’s family centers throughout Suffolk County, including the Iovino South Shore Family Center located at 1444 Fifth Avenue in Bay Shore. More information about Project T.O.Y. and Family Service League can be found at www.fsl-li.org.
“Project T.O.Y. is a wonderful program that brings happiness and hope to so many underprivileged children in our community,” said Vanessa Mitton, Marketing Director for Westfield South Shore. “We are calling on the generosity of our shoppers to help brighten the holidays for families who may not otherwise experience the joys of the season.”
Milk and cookies with Santa is free to the public and has limited space. Bringing a new, unwrapped toy or gift card is required. Participants must register for this event by visiting the management office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or via email at southshore@westfield.com.
For those interested in donating to Project T.O.Y., new, unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at the management office at Westfield South Shore, or at Family Service League, 1444 Fifth Avenue in Bay Shore.
