Teen Brothers Charged With 2 Gunpoint Robberies, Burglary: Police

The two were arrested after the crime spree at two gas stations and one business in the Town of Babylon on Tuesday morning, police say.

WHEATLEY HEIGHTS, NY - Two Wheatley Heights brothers were charged for robbing two gas stations at gunpoint and burglarizing another business in the Town of Babylon on Tuesday, according to Suffolk Police.

Miguel Rios-Hurdle, 18, walked into the Valero Gas Station on 355 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park at 3:25 a.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash, police said.

The teller complied with his demands and he fled, police said.

Miguel and his brother, 16-year-old Romeo Rios-Hurdle then broke into Milk N’ Things on 1287 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon at 3:35 a.m., and stole cash from the closed business, police said.

Miguel then walked into the Mobil gas station on 380 Commack Road in Deer Park, at 4 a.m., displayed a gun, and demanded cash, police said.

The teller complied with his demands and Miguel fled.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested the brothers in Wheatley Heights at 8:45 p.m.

Miguel was charged with two counts of first degree robbery and third degree burglary, police said.

Romeo was charged with third degree burglary and third degree grand larceny, police said.

Both are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
