Teen Shot In Wyandanch Sunday: Police

A vehicle, which had been reported stolen, was found abandoned with bullet holes in Bay Shore, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY – A Brentwood teenager was shot and seriously injured in Wyandanch Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the incident took place at 2:37 p.m. on Parkway Boulevard near Russell Street.

First Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired and located shell casings and evidence of a shooting — but there were no people who'd been shot at the location, police said.

About 20 minutes later, an area hospital reported a teenager with a gunshot wound in the emergency room at 2:58 p.m., police said. The 17-year-old male was dropped off at the hospital with serious injuries by several men in a 2013 Toyota RAV4, police said. The vehicle, which had previously been reported stolen, was located abandoned and with bullet holes in Bay Shore at 7 p.m., police said.
