Police ID Victims in Wyandanch Triple Homicide

Four people were shot as they sat inside an SUV Wednesday night.

Three people are dead and a fourth is in the hospital following a shooting in Wyandanch late Wednesday night, police said.

One of the people killed, 25-year-old William Madrey, of Wyandanch, was a “previously self-admitted gang member,” police said.

Madrey was seated inside a parked SUV with three other people on Davidson Street when gunfire rang out. All four people were struck, police said. Madrey, 23-year-old Stephanie Almedina Rivera, of Bay Shore, and 23-year-old Ciara Smith, of Deer Park, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The fourth person who was shot, a female who police did not identify, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 11:50 p.m. Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer told Newsday that ”a gunman came upon the vehicle and opened fire.”

Police are investigating whether gang affiliation played a role in the homicides.

Anyone with information about the shooting, or the people involved, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220 TIPS. Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads an arrest.
