Town Officials Honor Newest Eagle Scout

Deer Park's Zachary Knecht organized a successful food drive for a local church.

Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilwoman Jackie Gordon, Councilman Tom Donnelly, and Town of Babylon Special Assistant Terry McSweeney recently attended a Court of Honor Ceremony for new Eagle Scout Zachary Knecht, of Deer Park. The Eagle Scout is the highest-achievable rank in the Boy Scouts organization. For his Eagle Scout project, Zachary organized a food drive for the St. Paul’s Reformed Church in North Babylon. With the help of his friends and family, Zachary collected over 1,000 pounds of food and drinks for the food pantry.

The Town officials presented Zachary with an official Town of Babylon proclamation for his dedication to the community and wished him luck with his future endeavors.
