A Wall of Heroes at May Moore Primary School
Kindergartners at Deer Park school find a special way to honor America's veterans.

Kindergartners in Tammy Cotrone’s class at May Moore Primary School in Deer Park found a special way to honor America’s veterans, creating a Wall for Heroes to honor the local men and women who have served and are actively serving the country.
The students’ Veterans Day display showcased photos, biographies and accolades of family members, friends and community residents from various branches of the U.S. military.
Prior to creating their display of appreciation, kindergarten students learned the meaning and significance of Veterans Day and shared artifacts and stories of friends and family who have fought in wars throughout history. The students also created a flag of handprints painted in red, white and blue to represent the unity of the American people and to show their support of military men and women. Cotrone later presented the flag to veterans at Babylon Town Hall.
