WATCH: Music Teacher Shares Video Of Students Singing
Since the class couldn't practice their song together due to the coronavirus, the teacher assigned the class to record themselves singing.
DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park music teacher didn't let the coronavirus stop him and his students from sharing their music with the community. Schools in Suffolk County have been shut down since March 16, and will continue to be closed until at least April 15, so many teachers have been finding ways to give lessons and keep students connected online.
Since they couldn't meet up in person, last week Maxx Vogelsberg assigned his students to record themselves singing a song they have been planning to perform at the spring concert. As a result, the students recorded Andy Grammer's "Don't Give Up On Me," which was then complied together into a video posted on YouTube to the delight of the community.
"We wanted to come together to share this message of hope and perseverance in these difficult times," Vogelsberg wrote on YouTube. "We hope you enjoy!"
