What's Happening: Thursday's Events

We've gotten really lucky with our weather this week so far – no thunderstorms, no humidity and beautiful skies. More of the same is in store for us on Thursday with highs in Deer Park reaching about 85 degrees. No shot of rain tomorrow afternoon, but keep the sunblock handy again as the UV is forecasted to be higher than previous days.

Keep the kids busy at Deer Park Public Library starting today at 10:30 a.m. with  Learn how to make something cool and beautiful and take it home with you after you've finished!

Deer Park Public Library will also be hosting a meeting of its  starting at 2:00 p.m. Anyone from beginners to experts are welcome to join and share tips and tricks for making everything from rugs to scarfs.

Time for a classic – let the kids learn how to dive, dip, duck and dodge with an exhilirating game of Dodgeball at the Deer Park Community Center. The game, for kids between ages 11 and 13, gets underway at 4:00 p.m. Just dress for the occassion – gym clothing – and make sure you call ahead to register.

Finish off the day with the kids with at Deer Park Public Library. The event, for children in third through sixth grade, pairs them up with friends and teen volunteers to play board games and munch on snacks starting at 7:00 p.m.
