Local Artist Brings Color to N. Babylon Streets

Rebecca Chiraz wows her neighbors by splashing life onto blank canvases outside her home.

Rebecca Chiraz, 26, is often seen on Parkdale Drive with her easel out and paint brush in hand.

The talented artist has been drawing since she was 3 years old and was always passionate about it.

“I couldn’t get her to go outside to play, and she wanted nothing more than to finish her drawing first," said her mother, Joan Chiraz.

Although, Rebecca paints many different themes such as; people, landscapes and abstract art, she has a unique talent for capturing a pet’s personality. Bring her a photo of your beloved animal and she will create a portrait that is incredibly lifelike. Rebecca also continues to paint murals for the pet industry.

As for her future, Rebecca feels someday she would like to teach art in a school setting. She says, “ I have a big passion for teaching kids how to draw and paint.”  The artist is also available for private art lessons in her home or yours.

Rebecca works in oil on canvas and pastels or charcoal on paper.
