2-Alarm Blaze Rips Through Flatbush Home, FDNY Says

Firefighters battled a large fire that erupted in the basement of an Avenue J home Tuesday afternoon.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN -- Firefighters battled a massive blaze in a Flatbush home on Avenue J Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

A fire erupted in the basement of the three-story home at 3718 Avenue J, between East 37th and East 38th streets, at about 1:20 p.m., according to the FDNY.

It took firefighters an hour to quell the flames and no injuries were reported, according to the FDNY.
