71-Year-Old Jaywalker Dies After Flatbush Crash, Police Say

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN -- An elderly jaywalker died weeks after a Lexus slammed into him in the middle of a Flatbush Street, according to police.

The 71-year-old man was crossing Avenue D near East 49th Street at about 11:10 p.m. when he was hit by a grey 2002 Lexus, police said.

The 71-year-old, whose name was withheld until police could contact his family, was rushed to Kings County Hospital where he died from his injuries on Oct. 25, said police.

The Lexus driver remained on the scene and was not charged with a crime, according to police.
