Are the Homeless Forced to Die in the Cold?
The homeless forced into the cold and dying at Port Authority?

There are many homeless that during these frigid temperatures seek shelter wherever they can. Some in particular don’t feel safe in shelters and prefer public spaces where they might be hassled by the police, but they feel safer overall. One of these places is Port Authority at 42nd Street.
I have been feeding the homeless at Port Authority for the past year, and was told by some of the homeless there, that they have been forced out during record low temperatures of single digits, particularly on Monday night of this week some time around 3:00 a.m. I was also told, that within the past month or so, because the homeless have been forced out of Port Authority that approximately 12 homeless people have died. If any of this is true, why is it being allowed to happen? How can people with no place to go, be placed directly in harms way? Please be advised that many of these individuals may not have the mental or physical capacity to find another shelter at a moments notice, especially under such extreme weather conditions. If we placed a baby out into the cold and the child dies, that would be called murder, what is it called when we do that to the homeless?
Since I have heard this information, I have contacted New York 1, and the New York Times. They may be pursuing these stories this since I reported it to them, but I have not heard from them, nor have I seen anything about it on the news. So, I am writing about it, so it isn’t a hidden secret, that everyone knows about, but no one does anything about.
