Occupy Wall Street Celebrates First Anniversary [PHOTOS]
A neighbor shares a few moments of Occupy Wall Street's Sept. 17th Anniversary
Pedestrians and Occupiers were walking together on the sidewalks down on Wall Street, but the police kept the Occupiers walking in an effort to keep the flow going. The Occupy Wall contingent was organized and focused on the task at hand and chanted as they went along. The main theme was about corporate greed. And as they passed the famous bull they pointed to it and bellowed “No More Bullsh#$.”
I remember a year ago I met a young man on the subway with a little cardboard sign that said something about “Occupy Wall Street.” And at the time I asked what was the sign about. He then told me that a group of students were literally camped out down on Wall Street because they had come to the realization that the majority of the wealth in America was at the top and he said more, much of which I cannot remember. But what struck me at the time, that it wasn't so much about these kids had all the solutions, but it was about the message and raising consciousness. I told the young man that when peoples thoughts changed then the needed changes will come. We said good-bye to one another, and I thought to myself, I feel a change coming and this boy is just the beginning of it.
