
I went to the Town Hall meeting on Thursday night sponsored by Councilman Jumanne Williams and a FEMA representative was there. He said that you must apply for FEMA assistance, they will not be contacting you. Also, this assistance is only available if the property damage is on your primary residence.
If you wish to apply for FEMA assistance can you call 800-621-FEMA (3362) - or go to http://www.disasterassistance.gov/
When you apply for Disaster Assistance please have the following information available:
- Social Security Number
- Private Insurance Information, if available
- Address and zip code of the damage property
- Directions to the damaged property
- Daytime Telephone number
- A telephone where you can reached or where someone can leave a message
- An address where you get mail
- If you want your disaster assistance funds sent directly to your bank, provide FEMA agent with your bank account type (savings/checking), account and routing number
