Art Explore: Toddlers

Toddler Art Class! Art Explore:Toddler is geared towards children ages 2-3 to introduce and teach them about the "elements of art".

Finally, there is a great new toddler art class coming to the neighborhood this month. The class is being taught by Kristin Scarola, a local artist and educator who teaches Meet the Museum and Arty Facts classes at the Brooklyn Museum.

My toddler has been attending classes at the Museum for a few months and he absolutely loves creating and talking about art.

An art class with Kristin, in the neighborhood was long overdue. Kristin has a background in music and has transformed from performer to artist and educator. She has experience working with toddlers through high school students and believes that art exploration at a young age gives children the opportunity to cultivate early learning skills and broaden their creative experiences beyond the art studio to the world that surrounds them. She strives to empower children to think independently and critically through viewing and making art.

"Art Explore: Toddlers" is geared toward children ages 2-3 to introduce and teach them about the "elements of art" through identification of colors, shapes, lines and textures. Children will learn to utilize these elements to create a unique and unforgettable learning experience.

Each week, the little artists will collaborate and add to an ongoing art project that promotes continuity. The classes will utilize song, movement and games to create works of art.
