Council Member Mathieu Eugene Speaks Out

Council Member Eugene Mathieu of districty 40 being interviewed by Brooklyn Channel 12 in front P.S. 139

May 9th at approximately 5:00pm Mathieu Eugene being interviewed by Brooklyn Channel 12 in front of P.S. 139.

Just passing by and I happened to catch Council Member Mathieu Eugene district 40 after his interview and asked what it was about. Mr. Eugene told me he was stating that he will continue to fight to keep P.S. 139's after school program (CAMBA) after Mayor Bloomberg unveiled his budget cutting funds for after school programs. Mr. Eugene also mentioned that he was proud that he had brought funds that gave P.S. 139 their computer lab and also helped to sponsor the Chess Club.

Approximately 42,000 childcare slots will be cut across the city in September 2012, putting families that can least afford it in a critical situation of looking for childcare. Once again a disconnect between government and the needs of the people.
