Mosaic Mural for John's Bakery

Laura McKenna of Brooklyn Recycle Project creates mosaic mural in front of John's Bakery.

Well, the Brooklyn Recycle Project team has struck again and this time at John's Bakery on Cortelyou and Rugby Roads. The Brooklyn Recycle Project is a collective of artists founded by Ditmas Park artist Juan Carlos Pinto, that uses recycled materials to create wonderful mosaic murals to enrich and inspire an otherwise vacant space.  We last heard of them working on a mural in the Newkirk Plaza tunnel, and now the FDC in collaboration with John's Bakery have commissioned the BRP to create a mural for the right exterior wall by John's Bakery.

I managed to get a few shots of BRP artist Laura McKenna yesterday as they started work on the mural. Can't wait to go back today and see how it's turned out.
