PROP Police Reform Organizing Project Petition Drive & Video Interview
PROP Volunteers at Parkside and a Videotaped Interview of a victim of police harassment in Prospect Park.
Yesterday, Sunday July 22nd (PROP) Police Reform Organizing Project held it's fourth citywide petition drive, with volunteers stationed all over the city, and at the entrance of Prospect Park at Parkside and Ocean Aves. The PROP volunteers at Parkside worked from 1:00pm - 5:00pm collecting hundreds of signatures. The petition is requesting an independent monitor of the police, and end to abusive policing and problem solving methods that promote community.
One of the signers of the petition mentioned that he had been harassed by the police in Prospect Park just the week before, and I asked if he would consent that I could record his story concerning the incident. The videotape is that interview.
PLEASE BE ADVISED, THAT THERE IS PROFANITY THAT WAS A NECESSARY PART OF THE STORY.
