TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION LOCAL 100 ANNOUNCES DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY ENDORSEMENT FOR RODNEYSE BICHOTTE

New York, NY-- Today, the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 100
announced their support of District Leader/State Committeewoman Rodneyse
Bichotte for Assembly in the 42nd District, which covers Flatbush, Midwood, and
Ditmas Park in Brooklyn.

TWU Local 100 President John Samuelsen said, "On behalf of the TWU
Local 100 membership, I am proud to announce our union's support of Rodneyse
Bichotte. Rodneyse is an outstanding candidate who possesses progressive
leadership skills, a wealth of experiences, and the balanced knowledge needed to
serve our working-class communities in the State Legislature. Most importantly,
she is dedicated to restoring transit cuts, fighting the fare hikes, and
bringing about critical infrastructure and service improvements in our transit
system."

"I am very pleased to receive the endorsement of the Transport Workers Union
(TWU)," said Bichotte. "I was raised in a household of union workers, and have always advocated for their rights. Throughout my career in public service, I have advocated vigorously on behalf of the many residents of New York who work for New York City Transit, and keep our great city moving. The residents of Flatbush, Ditmas Park, and Midwood of the 42nd Assembly District rely heavily on
mass transit to get their workplace.

The efficient and safe transportation of millions of New Yorkers and  visitors is an essential element in sustaining our local and State economy. I am proud to advocate on behalf of the hard-working people in the transportation sector who make all this happen 365 days a year. That is why I will continue to fight against service cuts across the board, and I will strongly support the refurbishment of existing train stations and bus stops within my district. I will also continue to fight for the rights of unions to organize and demand fair wages, health and pension benefits."

"TWU is committed to supporting young, bold, progressive leaders who have been educating and empowering our own members in their communities,"
commented TWU Local 100 Secretary-Treasurer Earl Phillips. "We're looking for
candidates who will not only support our issues, but who will champion the
issues of public transit and workers' rights in Albany."
