  1. The New York State Senate honored Dr. Waldaba Stewart Jr., an NY Caribbean leader, who passed away on January 1st. Stewart was a professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science at Medgar Evers College. (Jamaica Observer)
  2. A report finds the average rents of New Yorkers living with roommates has fallen dramatically from pre-pandemic 2019 levels, especially in some of the city's wealthiest neighborhoods. It also identified East Flatbush as one of the city's least expensive areas. (AMNY)
  3. Brian Cunningham, a Flatbush native and staffer for Kevin Parker, announced he's running to fill a recently vacated state assembly seat. Cunningham previously ran for City Council, before dropping out in February 2021. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
