Brooklyn Woman Killed In House Fire Monday Morning, Police Say
Esther Gee, 67, died from smoke inhalation after her East 49th Street home caught on fire early Monday Morning, police said.

FLATLANDS, BROOKLYN — A woman lost her life when her Flatlands home was consumed by fire early Monday morning, said police.
Esther Gee, 67, was caught in a second-alarm fire at 1666 East 49th St. that erupted at about 1:15 a.m, police said.
Emergency responders ran into the building, pulled Gee out of the flames and rushed her to Beth Israel Hospital, but doctors were unable to save her life, said police.

The Fire Marshall has not yet determined what caused the fire but will continue to investigate, police said.
The fire was under control by about 2:30 a.m., according to an FDNY tweet.
