Ditmas Park CSA Deadline May 15
Ditmas Park CSA extends deadline to May 15th for organic veggies and fruit

What is a CSA? That is usually the first thing people ask whenever I mention that I am a member of one. Well, the letters stand for Community Supported Agriculture, which is a fancy way of saying a “farm cooperative.” This a group of neighbors that join together and invest in a local farm to reap the benefits of the produce the farmer raises, or shares in the disappointment if the harvest isn’t all that was expected. Last year I shared a half share from the Ditmas Park CSA, and half was enough to feed both me and my husband and another couple with a great variety of organic veggies that ran the gamut from kale, cabbage, potatoes, beets, beans, onions, tomatoes, and a melon per week. The great thing about this is that you can freeze whatever abundance you get and you have fresh organic during the winter months as well.
You only have to volunteer once in the season, a two hour shift.
