Ditmas Park Muggers Beat Man In Broad Daylight, Police Say
Police are looking for two men who beat a man to the ground yet failed to steal his wallet.

DITMAS PARK, BROOKLYN — The would-be victim of a mugging fought off his attackers after they punched him in the back of the head and knocked him to the ground, police said.
The 44-year-old man was walking near East 17th Street and Wellington Court at about 2 p.m. on April 8th when two men snuck up behind him, police said.
One of the would-be muggers punched the 44-year-old in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground, then he and his accomplice began punching and kicking their victim, said police.

The thieves tried to grab the man’s wallet from his pants pocket, but he was able to resist them until a passerby started shouting and the two men fled, police said.
Police released surveillance images on Friday of one man jumping the turnstile and letting his accomplice in through an emergency entrance in a nearby subway station.
