Community Board 14 5th Annual Youth Conference

Over 30 organizations serving young people will participate in this 5th annual youth conference, co-hosted by Brooklyn College Student Center.  Attendees will have an opportunity to apply to the Summer Youth Employment Program and other local summer job and internship opportunities. In addition several organizations and agencies will offer information about youth activities, programs and services. 

In past years hundreds of teenagers have attended this youth conference to take advantage of the many opportunities.

Participant organizations include Brooklyn College; BramsonORT College; Brooklyn Public Library Business and Career Library; Brooklyn South CERT; CAMBA REACH program; Citizen’s Committee for NYC; Council of People’s Organizations; Department of Youth and Community Development/Summer Youth Employment Program; Hollaback, Italian American League- Out of School Youth Program; National Grid, New York Aquarium; NYPD – 70th Police Precinct Explorers; NYC Parks and Recreation; Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow; Rock Head Press Publishing Group; THEO/SUNY Downstate Adolescent Education Program; YouthBridge/Jewish Council on Community Relations; and more.

In addition to information tables, the event will include several workshops on topics ranging from “Cyber-Bullying: What is it and how to Stop it” to “How to find a summer job or internship” to name some.   ###
