Flatbush Man Charged With Brutal Bronx Rape, Police Say

Lynneke Burris was arrested the same day he allegedly choked, raped and robbed a woman in the Bronx, said police.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man has been arrested for choking a woman into unconsciousness, dragging her onto a Bronx rooftop and then raping her, police said.

Lynneke Burris, 30, was charged with rape and predatory assault Thursday, the same day police believe he attacked a 23-year-old woman in an Bronx elevator in Concourse Village.

Burris followed his victim into the building near Parke Avenue and East 161st Street at about 12:45 a.m., choked her then pulled her into a stairwell and up onto the rooftop, police said.

After Burris raped the woman, he stole her wallet and cash and ran back down the stairwell, police said.

Police released photos and a description of Burris at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday and had him in handcuffs less than 90 minutes later.

Burris, who lives on Linden Boulevard in Flatbush, has been charged with rape, robbery, assault, strangulation and predatory sexual assault, according to police.
