Gyro Cafe Opens Near Ditmas Park's Newkirk Plaza

DITMAS PARK, BROOKLYN — A new fast food joint serving up gyros, burgers and Philly cheese steaks has opened up near Newkirk Plaza.

The new Mediterranean take-out restaurant called Gyro Cafe at Newkirk Avenue and East 16th Street had its grand opening this month.

The Gyro Cafe menu includes classic American fare, such as spicy chicken sandwiches and baskets of fried shrimp, as well as various curries, samosas, and a wide range of gyros.

Appetizers cost between $2 and $5, entrees are between $5 and $10 and a piece of baklava will cost you a buck.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday and you can order online through GrubHub and Seamless.
