Migrant Farmworkers March in Bklyn 5/21
MIGRANT FARMWORKERS MARCH FOR JUSTICE in Bklyn May 21st

The Rural Migrant Ministry a non-profit organization that advocates for the rights of rural and migrant farmworkers is sponsoring "THE MIGRANT FARMWORKERS MARCH FOR JUSTICE, May 15th- June 1st." The march is starting in Brentwood/Bethpage, Long Island and then continuing on through Queens/Brooklyn/Manhattan and going upstate to Albany.
The marchers are requesting legislators in Albany to sign into law "The Farmworkers Fair Practices Law Act," to provide the farmworkers with rights that they do not have now.
NY State Farm workers are excluded from minimum wage.
NY State Farm workers are not entitled to a day of rest per week.
NY State Farm workers are not allowed collective bargaining.
NY State Farm workers are excluded from most labor laws that protect the individual.
