Man Charged After Fatal Shooting Near Brooklyn’s Prospect Park: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting near Brooklyn's Prospect Park earlier this week, police said.

Kindle Akinola, 21, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Ramel Ingram, 24, was allegedly fleeing his attacker when he was shot multiple times in the chest around 8:45 p.m. outside a building near Crooke and Ocean Avenues in Flatbush — just two blocks from Prospect Park, police said.

Police found Ingram bleeding at the scene, and medics rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.

What led up to the shooting is not known at this time. A motive into the shooting has not been determined.

An investigation remains ongoing.
