Salud The Restaurant Revisited

On August 24th, I decided to stop by at Salud with my husband and have a bite before going off to finish the days chores.  Salud (salud means "health" in Spanish) is a healthy salad, sandwich and juice bar with a Mexican flair in the food and decor on Ave H, near East 17th Street.  I settled into one of my favorites, a pb&j with apple slices on whole grain bread, very yummy and reasonably priced. My hubby decided on an avo-veggie sandwich, which he polished off post-haste. Now, I like the food at Salud, the staff and the ambiance is very lovely, but what is it about the place that makes me uncomfortable. Perhaps the fact that I couldn't get comfortable.  I kept slipping and sliding off these puny little stools, that are great if you are sveldt and athletic, but for the average person it's a battle to figure out how to keep yourself perched on your seat. We finally decided to opt for some lower stools with square flat seats and where our feet actually reached the floor.  I looked around and to my surprise, I noticed that they did have real chairs that were folded up against a wall. Okay, so next time I go in I am appropriating one of those chairs and giving myself the royal treatment. I suggest when you go visit in future you do the same and forget the stools. I like to sit down and enjoy my meal without having to concentrate on how to keep from falling on to the ground. A suggestion to the owner, get some regular chairs, please!
