Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Celebrates Summer with Staycation to the Hawaiian Islands
Local care center residents learn to hula dance at end of summer bash
The Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recently hosted a festive Hawaiian party, bringing the culture and history of the South Pacific islands to its senior citizen residents. Party attendees were greeted with an array of Hawaiian-themed decorations, ranging from colorful cardboard flamingos and parrots to ‘Aloha!’ signs. Residents, channeling the spirit of the celebration, dressed in luau attire and wore lei garlands around their necks.
Sea Crest staff members facilitated numerous activities throughout the day including a presentation of a classic hula dance and a competitive round of Hawaiian-themed bingo. Participating residents were also treated to refreshing frozen drinks and an elaborately decorated, coconut-flavored cake.
The event wrapped up a fun-filled summer at the Sea Crest facility. In concurrence with the facility’s ongoing mission to provide residents ample time to enjoy the beautiful weather, staff members organized multiple outdoor gatherings throughout the summer. The summer socials were held out on the center’s breathtaking patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
