  1. A New Jersey man has been charged with the Dec. 14 murder of a 20-year-old employee at Flatbush Deli Corp. Ricardo Senatus, 28, is accused of shooting Fadhl Moosa in the head during a robbery as Moosa worked behind the counter. Senatus was arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court, where he was ordered held without bail, and a grand jury indicted him on first-degree murder, robbery, and other charges. (New York Daily News)
  2. The surge of Omicron cases in New York is affecting local sports schedules, as numerous recent games have been canceled due to COVID-19. The St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball team was forced to cancel its first two Northeast Conference contests due to the league's COVID-19 protocols. The Terriers' next game is scheduled for Jan. 6 against St. Francis-Pennsylvania.
