Teen Killed In Fiery Flatbush Car Crash, Police Say

One 19-year-old died and two other young men were injured when a Mercedes crashed on Kings Highway Tuesday afternoon, police said.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN -- A teenager is dead and two others injured after a Mercedes slammed into a Kings Highway tree and burst into flames Tuesday, police said.

Claudio Poggy, 19, was killed inside a car that smashed into a divider near Kings Highway and Avenue D in East Flatbush at about 4:30 p.m., said police.

Emergency responders pulled Poggy, another 19-year-old and one 16-year-old out of the car, police said.

The 16-year-old was in critical condition when emergency responders rushed him to Brookdale Hospital and the second 19-year-old, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to Kings County Hospital, police said.

Police will continue to investigate what caused the crash.
