Woman Buys Gucci With $125K Taken From Charter School Booster: DA
Flatbush resident Tasmyn Craig stole money from Charter Technology Solutions, a company that provides tech supports to schools, the DA said.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN -- A Flatbush woman stands accused of embezzling $125,000, which was meant to help charter schools, to buy herself Gucci merch, a BMW and a Miami vacation, prosecutors said.
Tasmyn Craig, 40, was indicted Wednesday on grand larceny charges stemming after she allegedly stole cash from her employer, a company that provides tech support to charter schools, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.
Craig, an employee of Charter Technology Solutions, siphoned off $125,000 through wire transfers and cash withdrawals from the company's business account between June 21, 2016, and Dec. 30, 2016, prosecutors said.

As CTS’ operations and finance manager, Craig had access to the organization's Wells Fargo and Citibank accounts to pay operational expenses, said prosecutors.

Instead Craig made monthly payments on her BMW, took a JetBlue flight to Miami, and bought herself goods from Gucci, Tiffany, Akira, and Uggs, according to prosecutors.
CTS founder Sachin Gujral discovered the alleged fraud in January 2017, when he noticed double entries of vendor payments in the books, and fired Craig on Jan. 10, according to the investigation.
Craig was arraigned on a 22-count indictment of grand larceny and falsifying business records in Brooklyn Criminal Court and released without bail, said prosecutors.
The Flatbush woman is expected to return to court on Feb. 6 and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted, said prosecutors.
